Sainsbury's Supermarket & Fratelli's Restaurant

New build commercial and retail units

The transformation of the site from a petrol filling station and storage area to a modern two-story commercial building was a significant endeavor that required meticulous planning and execution. The process began with the acquisition of the site, followed by extensive consultations with the local authority to secure approval for the demolition of the existing structures and the construction of the new building. The new commercial building, spanning 8,000 square feet and consisting of five separate units, was designed to meet the needs of the local community while adhering to the regulations of the conservation area.

Obtaining planning permission within a conservation area was a noteworthy achievement, highlighting the commitment to preserving the historical and architectural integrity of the surroundings. The successful completion of the construction phase, which included the provision of 72 parking spaces, further underscored the attention to detail and the adherence to quality standards throughout the project.

The leasing of the ground floor unit to Sainsbury PLC and the occupancy of the first floor by the popular restaurant Fratelli's added to the prestige and appeal of the new commercial building. This strategic selection of tenants not only enhanced the commercial viability of the site but also contributed to the vibrancy and diversity of the local business landscape.

Located in the affluent village of Ponteland, Northumberland, the site has become a focal point for commercial activity and community engagement. Its strategic positioning, coupled with the high-quality design and amenities of the building, has attracted a steady stream of customers and visitors since its completion. The success of the site serves as a testament to the vision, dedication, and expertise that went into its development, making it a valuable asset to the local economy and a source of pride for all involved.
